Now that is a red chasuble

The Archbishop of Rennes, France, has a red chasuble which is really special. He wore it for an ordination last month. Enjoy.

  1. My great-aunt Mabel has a living room sofa covered in that same fabric.

  2. Looks like a Mexican Serape to me. Prefer the newly ordained one.

  4. Mexican serape or not, it is so French!!!

In France anything papal Rome prefers, you can be certain the French will dismiss and do the exact opposite. As the unfinished Reformation unfolds, France will once again become the intellectual leading light in disconnecting itself (as will happen in Ireland, Germany, Austria, and elsewhere) from the Roman See.

  5. Remember when the French thought they were "le dernier crie" when it came to good taste? They now glory in the hideous.

  6. He's not an "ordinand" if he's already been ordained.
